November 2018 - Highlights Foundation Workshop "Writing Historical Fiction"

August 2017 - Had a magical week participating in TENT: A Children's Literature Workshop at the Yiddish Book Center on the beautiful campus of Hampshire College. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the many literary luminaries, both current and historical, who hail from this part of Massachusetts. Highlights included visiting poet Emily Dickinson's homestead and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

An Ambush of Tigers is featured in Chapter 12 of the teacher textbook, Picture-Perfect STEM Lessons, 3-5, Using Children's Books to Inspire STEM Learning (by Emily Morgan and Karen Ansberry, published by National Science Teachers Association).

The book offers all kinds of questions to pose to the students, along with suggested activities, and a quote by me about how collective nouns inspired me to write the book.

Book launch for One Minute Till Bedtime, Children's Book World, LA - November 2016

I was in the company of other Southern California poets at our book launch for Kenn Nesbitt's poetry anthology, One  Minute Till Bedtime. Check out my Rainbow poem in it. The book received three starred reviews and Publishers Weekly listed it as one of the best children's books of 2016.
